Rainbow

I was waiting from ages
for a rainbow to appear
in my courtyard.
I dreamt of the colours
newness and the happiness
that it would bring me.
appearing of rainbow
was a passion of my life.
At every turn of road
I thought it was in the next cross,
And hoped that my turmoil
would end at its presence
And the searching soul will find
its deliverance.

Finally....

Rainbow did appear.
But across my threshold
in another's courtyard.
I was clenching my fist with
The rainbow that was not mine.
It hurt me to let it go.
God! why me again?

But my turmoil came to rest
when I learnt not to limit
myself to my fist & threshold.
But to expand my vision
to the sky.
