Grayscale

Curved across a clouded sky,
The bright colors of the rainbow display brightly.
A girl stares up at the miraculous sight,
Smiling at the way the colors shine.
Before her very eyes,
The colors begin to fade.
One by one the hues above
Turn to a grayscale arch.
Plain, like its backdrop of clouds.
All uniqueness has been wiped out
Of the brilliantly shining spectrum
Of what once was colorful and joyous,
Leaving behind a gloomy shell of what once had been.
