By the waterside the Faubourg rooftop, sharp mansard shadow against the dusk, shelters the spreading crowd,

at its highest peak

pounds at the wake
...

The season finally slumps

and in the tender light behind the pane,
tired glances over swirling glasses-
...

Here by night,
the sky shines in ghostly ways-
gray veils slither high,
cover up the city
...

​By the window,
a child wakes from the light.
Stirring on his mattress,
he watches the walls of his room
