Underneath It All Poem by Brysha Mull

Underneath It All

Underneath it all,
With the curtains pulled back and the sun shining in,
I dread the day that's breaking,
It begins once again.

Why?
Pull back the curtains and begin the days endless routine.
Why?
Face a world so unkind and unknowingly mean.

So I sit alone,
And I dream...

Looking nowhere,
A smile quickly fades,
No one's around,
So I'll end the sharades.

Keep it calm they say,
And keep it direct,
But when no one is there,
I can only reflect.

So collect all the white lies,
And every fake smile,
So maybe tonight,
I can breath for awhile.
