Slipping Away Poem by Mona Willis

Slipping Away

Rating: 4.7

I’m Slipping Away
I might be gone today
But you are trying to save me
I’m glad for everything you gave me
And I’m trying to keep that in mind
But there’s something always pushing me back
Trying to make me a blown away chaff
But I can’t runaway from you
And I know you want to know whom
Is making it hard for me
Don’t you see
You could be anything
That you want to be
And that’s why I’m slipping away
Cause you yourself could be gone today
And I don’t want to be there to see it
Or believe it
I’m glad for all you’ve gave me
Your trying to save me
From evil’s hand
And I understand
So I won’t be gone today
Into peaceful ness I’m
Slipping away
