Never There Poem by Ilana Friedman

Never There

I wished that you'd listen,
I wanted you to understand.
I hoped that you would be there
and I needed you to care.

So I waited for you to come around,
and I thought that you might change.
But instead you've left me empty
without love and without faith.

Now I'm here all alone trying to forget the yesterdays.
I'll never get back all those days you stole away.
But how where you to know that my heart had split in two?
You never really knew me, just like I never knew you.
