Maryann Poem by Chinonso Nzeakor

Maryann

Rating: 5.0

Your surface
Is the enthralling sea
Speaking of great depths.

Your surface
Is a glistening coin
Reflecting my shadowy self.

Your surface
Is distilled water
Illumining the melting face of the sun.

Conceived in great depths
Brought forth in the belly of magical waters
Your surface is aglow,
With the splendor and radiance
Of her watery presence,
You are only but cocooned in flesh.

Your surface
...is the enthralling sea.

Beautiful... Spotlessly beautiful
Solo speaking of a different earth
With the roaring and rising
Of many waters.

You are Maryann,
Watermaid,
Claiming to be human,

Is it I you think you deceive?

Beautiful rendition of words to utmost justice. A well drafted piece written in heightened poetic diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Chinonso.
