Mary Rose Poem by Thabani Khumalo

Mary Rose

Mary Rose:
Mary Rose there has been issued a warning.
I once upon a time wrote to a Mary Rose.

We have all received our power through indelible scars,
from age to age we mourn the scars that were caused upon human skin,
we sleep on mountains and mourn the death of humans
who died under attack by spiritual Gods.

We welcome the enlightened souls of ancestors forgotten in time,
we invoke their spirits into existence by incense and incantion.

No - No my child...
We don't write from the power of our thoughts.
We wait long enough to receive a complete revelation
and then we only describe the truth in the view.

If you are instead blessed by a cheerful spirit,
a spirit that loves to burst into a good performance,
please follow that quickly and with marginal zeal.

Christian oriented poets always come to misunderstand their way with the reality of words,
therefore they are never considered worth of poetic greatness.
Yet you can gain favor and be popular with with the vast Christian Mass
and you grow completely satisfied.

Never but never ever consider looking for a scar.
Do not be tempted to visit the Darkside.
Do not ever consider coming to the true way of the light.

Don't go looking for a scar because the pain will remain the same through life.
The ambition to write beautiful words can leave you empty and unhappy.
The immortal Ghost of Poetry is alive in this time.
Poetry is only sweetest when taken from the Source.
