It's Your Love Poem by Dakota Ellerton

It's Your Love

I can hear the faint whispers over my shoulder,
the light touch on my neck,
sends trembles through my body.
I'm left speechless.
I've tried to leave you,
but I don't know how.
Time and time again,
these words echo in my mind.
I'm on the step,
waiting for you.
I can't breathe,
I'm struggling to stay awake.
It was too many, too many..
I get up, carrying my bag.
A few feet from the car,
and I collapse in front of you.
You run out to get me.
What do you really see when you look at me.
Past the makeup,
can you see the tears behind my eyes?
You try to help me to my feet,
but it's no use.
I look at you and smile.
'You're eyes are blue'.
Before the last word leaves my lips,
you've started to cry.
I couldn't be more ashamed of myself.
