If You Love Me Poem by connie Engstrom

If You Love Me

Rating: 4.0

If you love me
You would accept me
For the way I am
Not the way I was

I did my share of running
The running has disappeared
And I have settled down

For myself not for you or any special person
So please next time you see me
Don't think of me as anyone special

I am just like you in certain ways
I can't forgive and forget that easy
For I care about my life
And not yours or anyone else's life

If you love me
Please allow me to know myself better
Please understand I love you

Though it will hurt you I know, but I need time
So leave now before the hurt turns into pain]

If you love me
You would accept me the way I am
Not the way I was

Well this is an interesting way for a girl to express her love. I'm not sure that she wants this guy at all. I know I sure would have my doubts. GW62
