Get Up, Stand Up Poem by David Beckham

Get Up, Stand Up

You seating on your ass, your hands stapled to your side
Waiting on the vulture to come to your aid
You bundled to the rail track waiting
Waiting on the next train to come run you over
How bad do you think you have it?

Birds have free will I suppose
The clock never stops ticking I see
And here you are my friend
Eyes glued shut
Not an ear to the world or belief in your strength

Square pegs do not fit in round holes dude
Staples or ropes whatever symbolizes your struggles
Start right here please
No more excuses
Put your mind, your head, your heart to work

Ghosts are ghost they are everywhere
Listen to me whisper
Ghost haunt you when you do bad, they smile at you when you are down
You let them in, they come in, they come in, they build a home
They come with ropes, they come with staples

You got life, you got hope, you got strength
You can break free
And take your world to where you have always dreamed it to be
All you need is this
Belief
