Don'T Do It! ! ! Poem by Daniel Adams

Don'T Do It! ! !

I'll never know what it's like,
Staring at the sharpest end of a spike.
Hurtling down at break-neck speed.
Ending it all because of my own greed.

I'll never feel the noose go slip,
Down the stairs I'll never 'trip'
I'd never ever end it all.
My life is good and I'm standing so tall.

I don't think I'd ever swallow that pill,
Never take my life at my own free will.
I couldn't ever slash my wrist,
There's many things I could stay and list.

I'll never again even contemplate,
Because there's nobody up here who could compensate.
The pain the loved ones go on through.
Don't put them through it, if only for you.

Use this wisely and think of this,
Once you're gone, you're bound to be a miss.
I think of the people I have now I'm alive,
Because of them, I know I'd survive.
