Can't Stand The Night Poem by Marc Jude Fernandes

Can't Stand The Night

Falling tears, a broken heart
Here I sit as life goes by
Cause all we had has gone today
Can't stand the night.

The fun we had, I knew so well
That something so deep inside
The last few months have been pure hell
Can't stand the night.

Contagion- you tore our world apart
Everywhere you've left behind your trace
You touched us with misery
The like which we have never faced.

Lord why do I pray to you and why don't you answer?
Take my prayers, or you take my soul
Don't you let this night be a curse upon your name
Can't you see, it isn't right
Can't stand the night.

Tell me where I have gone wrong
Give me a reason why
Tell me how to win you back
Can't stand the night.

Nations filled with tears
As bodies pile up again
And my eyes are sad each time
The night it comes back again.
