Billie Jean Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Billie Jean

I will not go singing Billie Jean
Simple, I have not tasted out of the gin
She was tempting, looking like jinn
Seated in the bottle covered in beautiful skin

Little need miming Billie Jean
I am not the person of James Dean
Street wisdom; he was the dean
Feminine stunts is not my thing

I refuse to dance Billie Jean
Never going to be part of such a thing
Do not desire throwing rubbers into the bin
Neither do I wish to be hit in the shin

Heavens know I am for Billie Jean
She is a lady that wanted a thing
Looking so dangerous in her fin
Let her go and find her tin

(“Billie Jean” is the title of a song by the legendary late Michael Jackson, composed and sang to deny his alleged fathering of a child by a lady called Billie Jean)
