Better The Devil You Know Poem by David Wheeldon

Better The Devil You Know

Rating: 5.0

I thought I knew myself
However, I know nothing at all
I am a stranger to myself
Trapped in a world with no way back
I am not that person once calmed by love
Now a devil in my own tormented world
Changes have taken hold of which I have no control
I really do not know who I am anymore
Self inflicted misery I have bought upon my self
Those around feeling it too
Is it fair they share my darkness?
My world I have created
My misery
I know what I should be
Nevertheless, who I am I just do not know anymore

A witty introspective piece of poetry written in persuasive poetic expressions with conviction. Well conceived and nicely penned. Thanks for sharing, David.
