Behind The Wheel Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Behind The Wheel

Rating: 0.5

You ever complete a course in high school
called Driver Education? First, you take
Classroom, where the Rules of the Road
are studied at tedious length.
Second, the phase called Range,
where you drive in circles, parallel park
and perform other maneuvers,
all under the sharp eye of a crusty
gym teacher who belches.

Behind the wheel means you drive
in traffic, you aim high as you steer,
you keep your eyes moving, you stop
at the stop line on the pavement
when required to do so,
you signal turns and you drive at
no more than 30 mph!

Is that clear, students?
