Your Very Best Friend Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Your Very Best Friend

Rating: 5.0

You cry softly
nuzzle into my neck.

My collar all
tears & lipstick.

You tell me everything
down to the littlest detail.

I listen
& soothe...comfort.

Talk you through
all the shit.

You give me a tiny
peck on the cheek

Tell me
I’m the best.

Cuddle you
‘til you fall asleep.

Your hurt
hidden now
in dreams.

He, your lover
somewhere out on the piss.

I, only
your very best friend

enduring the agony
of loving you.

Caught in a trap...of caring enough to love to help....and to be torn apart at the same time by that same love....is a very painful place to be....
