Your Jar Poem by frosted fire

Your Jar

Indescribable roots of the lost teenage years
gathered together to show us again
how pretty it was, to be just friends

Drivin all across the country
with a half brain of rubber
show me your jelly
come on make me sober

Rules and predictions written on the back of our heads
aren’t recognized by the two young lovers from the east
so just show us how it used to be

Simple minded thoughts crumble beneath the surface of an old, dirty river
which shows me how time wasted us by
wasted us by till the end of time

Optimistic waves once ran inside my jar
till I saw you today, now its all gone
tryin to look forward, but where looking?
if there’s no land or space in the dark look of the evening road

Close your eyes, close your door
prophets come to the shore
lie to me, talk no words
watch me now, im no good
