You Say You Are A Christian Poem by Suzae Chevalier

You Say You Are A Christian

You say you are a Christian

but what do I see?

You have a ton of clothes, purses

watches, shoes, and jewelry.

You say you are a Christian

but what do I hear?

You say Jesus' name in vain

ringing in my ear.

You say you are a Christian

but what do you do?

You ignore me and you exclude me

from being introduced, introduced

to your "in the world neighbors"

who you say "hi" to twice…

Then you talk for hours on your phone

at my home to a prophet who dies.

Months later a tragic death which you did confess-

but you think she went up in rapture because God

loved her best.

Just like the son of a false Christian whose son

dies of an overdose-

you both think they are special and

with that, you can boast…

That you have all the answers to deliverance

and such…

when it is about power not words in the Kingdom

of Light-

God looks to see Christians doing His will

and not to those who look "Just right".

Just right to the world—and all of its charms

for you are evil and can do me harm.

That is why the Holy Spirit is there to warn me

He sets off the alarm.
