in a place
where you live
you must learn
to compromise

higher than that
you must learn
to please them
for you just don't
know what happens
next

if you must
try to praise
do not be a miser
of compliments
learn to
appreciate

at night when
you are asleep
soundly from your
exhaustion
they wake up
and talk about you

that you are
such a good man
and had helped
them a lot

these things of
course
you cannot hear
you cannot see
you cannot feel

in the place where
you live
and where they also
live
what is given to you
is the day
and they take the
night

so just be kind
and just be good
if you can
between these
boundaries
when light meets
darkness
i tell you again
you just don't know
what happens next.
