You Helped Me

I cried a tear
You wiped it dry
Although I'm lost
Only you know why
She tore my soul
And took the heart from me
You saved my life
By being close to me
And as a friend
You had no equal to
The many hurtful folk
I foolishly clung to
So when you wiped my tears
You were just helping me
To piece my heart back whole
And really comfort me
