You Crack..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

You Crack.....

i am in good
faith treating you
for the dinner
of your life, when
suddenly, when you
had your fill and
your mouth is full
and then it started
foul, as you confront
me with a wall where
i am supposed to bang
my head on? i wonder
if you want me killed?
we had that dinner
and i wish for a
happy conversation, until
you confronted me with
this wall where i am
supposed to bang my head
on.
crazy, but i am so
sorry for you,
i love myself and
i am happy altogether
with what i am supposed
to be.
you are fat and
ugly and bad mannered
too, but i never
had the temerity to
tell you so.
i still have respect
for you and
for myself.
it will be the
last dinner of
your life.
you are fat and
ugly, and nobody
loves you.
a sad fact, and a wall,
which i never
asked you to bang
your head on.

i guess, i still
have to
jump over fences,
hide behind walls,
and never
had to bang my head
on.
you crack.
