You Can Count On Me Poem by Jon M. Nelson

You Can Count On Me

Verse 1:
Good times come and they go but my love remains the same,
You'll always be a part of me for this isn't just a game.
I say that I love you, but you say you love me more,
I'd say we are even because nobody is keeping score.
We've both been let down, but we raise each other up,
And if love was my alcohol, you would overfill my cup.

Chorus:
If you're unsure what tomorrow brings,
You'll always have these three things;
One heart that will beat for you,
Two arms that will hold you tight,
Three words that will always be true.
You can count on me to love you right.

Verse 2:
In such a chaotic world you never know what lies ahead,
We don't know if tomorrow will come when we lay in bed.
Birth and death are two things that are always certain,
And you just never know when our lives will draw the curtain.
I could give you the world but, in a moment, it could be gone,
I just need you to know there's something you can rely on.

Chorus:
If you're unsure what tomorrow brings,
You'll always have these three things;
One heart that will beat for you,
Two arms that will hold you tight,
Three words that will always be true.
You can count on me to love you right.

Yes, you can count on me to love you right.
