You are the knight and Shakespeare of my life,
The hero and sweet bard who rescues me
From demons born of inharmonious strife,
With that pure lance of piercing melody.

In every song, you breathe that rare perfection
To which the verse of Avon’s swan aspires;
With every note, you bring to my affection
The comfort my benighted soul desires.

Gentle chevalier, you fly so free,
Your spirit soars, it reaches heights divine,
Exalted by uplifting harmony,
While my heart merely flutters, through these lines.

You are my poem, my ecstasy, my song,
You are my wings of joy, my whole life long.
