You And I Poem by Faustina Marie

You And I

Love.
So abused, so warped
Tossed around in the back seats of cars
And on dark nights when it's too cold to be alone,
Thrown between teenagers
Who've never tasted true emotion

What do I feel for you?
I feel you are an anchor
A solid being of wonder,
You make me wonder, how anyone can be as you are;
Such a strong presence, such a fierce will, such a gentle touch...

Love is trampled on and twisted around telephone poles
As if it doesn't mean a thing,
You mean... You mean so close to everything
That it is terrifying.
You are terrifying and beautiful
We are terrifying and beautiful together

Belonging doesn't make sense
Wanting doesn't make sense
Nothing makes sense and everything makes no sense
And you and I make no sense,
But I'm keeping you in my heart
And holding you tight
And clasping your hand all throughout the day and night

I will be your angel
I will cherish you with all the heart I have left
And I will say I love you,
But I will not say it the way anyone else does.
I will say I love you, and I will mean so much more,
Because you mean so much more
Than I could ever ask or imagine

I am yours and you are mine
Clasp my hand all throughout the day and night,
Brave the world, and know that we are different
Know that we are not meant to make sense
But sense-love- doesn't matter;
Because I have you
And you have me
