You Poem by Maura Hunt

You

4/14/08

You stare at me with empty eyes.
The butterflies eat at my stomach.
But you don't realize this.

I drift over to my friends, hoping you'll follow.
But you don't.
So i drift back over to you and the hallway seems vacant once more.

If only you knew what you mean to me(If only you knew)

When i look into your eyes the world stops.
Everything seems to silently float on by, but all I see is you.
All i see are your eyes and all i feel is your presence.

Most of the time that you're there, Im scared.
Scared that I'll make the wrong move,
And startle you and our friendship.

I don't want to risk losing your friendship,
especially if that's all we have.
All we'll ever have.

Im willing to wait for you to feel the same way I do.
But I'm not willing to wait for too long.
