Yes I Can... Poem by Besma Jemaa

Yes I Can...

No baby,
I'm not self boasting,
I'am just trying to see any positivity in me.
I can find a multiplicity, a diverse bunch of knowledge and poetry.
Why can't you see that in me?
Why don't you at least recognize it?
I can talk politics, societal and civics.
I can see and debate, discuss and negociate.
I can be an artist,
A singer, a story teller and a humorist.
I can be a child and teeze you for a while
Then back again a lady so mature and devine.
So why this rupture between us?
And this deadly wall of silence will it collapse?

It's when your life turns to be mere monotony and void of any essence because of the silence imposed on you.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The poem is a crying protest of a woman who lives in a society where a silence is imposed upon them but she has enough courage and abilities to speak through fine arts and literature. A wonderful and impressive poem..............10.
