Yellow Lamp Poem by Bernard Henrie

Yellow Lamp

Rating: 5.0

Hushed, arched
as though writing poetry
together at a yellow lamp,
she recites for both,
lips tinted coffee color,
eyes open wide
as though surprised
by the garden cicada
awakened
when the red bunting
overflows the birdbath;

Lights out.
