Years ago
I wrapped all the memories up
tied them together
with a blue ribbon
storing them away,
telling myself
that's just
the way it should be.
But, every once in a while
I take them down
carefully untying the ribbon
and then
carefully,
so gently
I unwrap them
breaking the promise
I made to myself
so many
years ago.
