Wouldn'T You Poem by Danny Ballan

Wouldn'T You

Wouldn't you be much closer?
Where the eye meets the eye,
And the bare skin touches bare skin.
And the tongues are deeply intertwined
For stories shown and no more told;
And some histories being there foretold;
And some kingdoms rose from the ashes
For some hardly any reason they would fold.

Wouldn't you be right here in my arms?
Where no more you have to stand in line
For some fleeting moment of affection
Mistakenly falling out of the blue,
And all you're looking for, right here in my arms,
Is exclusively given all to only you.

Wouldn't you be here right now?
For what use if there was no tomorrow,
And what matters if we didn't know how.
For ages have passed waiting for this step
To be taken on some right pedestal
Elevated to see the world in a glance perhaps
Or to stand in there and watch it all
And be as mute as a statue's stone;
What we need to do is so clear.

Wouldn't you breach the silence barrier
That's kept us mute for years and on?
The story goes with too many characters
With too much description but no dialogue.
When it's all here by the rising sun
And the skies have never been so clear,
There's no point standing there in the fog
And waste it all groping for a savior.

Would you stay with me and believe?
Tomorrow is whatever we do today,
And today has just started to live,
As every moment will never be the same
For the merry moments we become nostalgic;
And times of woe just pass in and out
For so such stories would be called tragic,
And that's what all our lives will be about.
