Workplace Dream Filler Night Release Nightmares Poem by Terence George Craddock

Workplace Dream Filler Night Release Nightmares

during the day awake we walk
in the landscape of the living
during the day the landscape
is a cityscape city life rush rush
commute to workplace work work
then home again three meals a day
to think think of weekends escape
not a daily done job week days

a rural landscape will involve different
landscape commutes different daily duties
but the lure of weekend choices freedoms
different routines choice pleasures will lure
attract mind into weekend pleasures even
if rising late sleeping late is first choice

first on the plate of daydream choices
but the night dreamscape landscape
is a jumble mind shifting processing
daily memories experiences anxiety
dreams may prey on mind trapped
in job conflict frustration interaction
may morph with horror watched
tv programs movies read books

into vivid colour grim death dream
experiences a reaper's henchmen
bosses gathering up lame workers
with black ink gravity sobering
clarity to work in deep prison caves
no walked sunlight deep underground

places of hard labour where demons
red eyes ghost eyes no eyes watch wait
hurt without whips but thrown demon
impaling pinning knives glee fun thrown
to torture slaughter workers cruel forced
labour woes toxic dreamscape nightmares
dream torment night fear sharp needle
point contrasts with life mundane simple

work three meals a day eaten in dreams
weekends a good life of nothing happening
days each day the same same soul prison
no adventure variety escape mind warns
something must give change black white
life screams in vivid colour blood knives

piercing blade points in I see red I see red
I see red underground trap escape needs
dark stress trap trap underground caves
should be underground limestone caves
calcium carbonate drip drip dreams wonders
filled with glorious awesome variety profusion
stalactite and stalagmite wonderland caves
freedom running imagination paradise places
