Words In The Mirror Poem by Gloria Comingore

Words In The Mirror

I’ve practiced in the mirror each day.
I try to find the words I want to say.
As I watch you walk away.

How do I find the words that will make you take notice?
Just long enough to let you know how I feel about you.
For I fell in love with just one glance across a crowded room.

I don’t know your name, but you’ve captured my heart just the same.
In a blink of an eye, do you even know I exist?
What words can I say your slave I’d be; if you just glanced my way.

My heart is yours and you don’t even know it.
I’d follow you around the world and back.
I’d give you the moon to match the bright eyes that shine like the stars.

What words can I say that would make you feel the same way?
My heart beats for only you, but you don’t know.
Where is cupid’s arrow when I need him the most.

I’ve practiced in the mirror each day.
I try to find the words I want to say.
As I watch you walk away.
