Words in the dark are often more shaking than silence.
“I love you” is often more painful then walking away.
My reply is caught in my throat as you are swallowed in darkness.
The space between us is only breached with thought and an “I love you”
When the look in your eyes screams out pain and my face must betray nothing.
When the words of sorrow come easily to my lips but must never betray a sound.
Then only can you understand.
