Word Feast Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Word Feast

Rating: 5.0

Met the family
at the 60th birthday party.
Up to then
had only heard
of them.

Mr. Blackman
was...black!
Hey, how about that!
And his 3 sons are known
respectively as:

Moses, Emmanuel & Mikalmus
They just rolled off the tongue
in all their wonderful Biblical splendour.

But Moses
took the biscuit
when it came
to a colourful name.

His full name
being:
Moses Mooncrimson Blackman
because when
he was born

there was a red moon
or so his father observed.
Someone asked
if I wanted something to eat
but I was too busy
observing the word feast!
