Wishing That People Actually Cared About My Opinions Poem by Saucy Elmo

Wishing That People Actually Cared About My Opinions

Can't say what I mean,
Can't try to walk away.
Cause in this kind of situation,
The blame is on me.
Cause I tried to make peace,
But it all came back on me.
Why did I have to be the better person?
Can't seem to make them listen!

Can't try to make it better,
Cause I'll be the scarlet letter.
Shunned out from every place I ever knew,
With dirty glances even from you.
Cause being different is looked down upon.
Wanting a change was unheard of.
Why can't I express my opinion?
Its one that I believe in.

And I don't have a doubt.
That the world will come crashing down.
Right before our very eyes.
Cause if we don't change our ways,
Then it will be too late!
But we cannot change over night.

If I wasn't there, who would be the last one standing?
If I didn't care, who would be giving more than taking?
Cause they never really understood,
That I wanted to make a difference in this world.

If I didn't try, who would make this place perfect?
If I didn't cry, who would make our last chance worth it?
Cause every time I open my mouth,
All of my words get drowned out.

If we were to change, could there be a tomorrow?
If we are to blame, would we drown in sorrow?
Cause we knew that things were getting bad.
Did this to ourselves, destroyed all we ever had.
