Wishing She Had Never Said Goodbye Poem by Madaline Pietrangelo

Wishing She Had Never Said Goodbye

The moon begins to rise
Over these dark pitch black skies
She glaces out her window
Her heart full of sorrow
Dreading the day
It will soon be tomorrow

She soon falls asleep
In her dreams,
You and here is what she sees
You take her hand
And keep her safe from harm
Soon she wakes up
To the sound of her alarm

She wakes up to what felt so real
Now her breaking heart
Is all she can feel
You are deeply missed
In her aching mind
She thinks about you
All the time

You and her have been together so long
But the time has passed
And it's time to move on

It's just not right having to live this lie
She fakes her smiles
And holds her cries
Wishing she had never said goodbye
