Winter's Joy Poem by David Wood

Winter's Joy

Rating: 5.0

Snowdrops are the start of natures new dawn
Poking their heads through the hard winters frost
Drooping white heads in the bright sunny morn
Against the cold earth such beauty's not lost

Dreaming and hoping winter's now parting
Drinking in silence that crisp morning dew
Taking all that the season's now throwing
The start of all that in nature is new

Coming in Jan'ry and going in March
All to give the season such hope and joy
Resting after showers in rainbows arch
That is a tactic that they easl'y employ

Winters cold basket bringing such beauty
Nature is starting its floral duty
