Winter's Green Poem by Benny John

Winter's Green

Sitting on the foot of another mountain,
while the last trip seemed so long.
Breathing on for another dream,
as the memories come along.
The walk to the yard
of the school and the hard
rains of the promised land.
Where am I?

The autumn leaves at the mercy of the wind,
while the spring in my mind goes on.
Searching on for the colours in black,
it’s a crazy situation going on.
The hardest part
is staying apart
from the beat of my own heart.
Where am I?

Take me my child,
to the land of a thousand dreams.
Take me my child,
to the colours of winter’s green.
Take me my child,
to the place you would rather be.
