Wings Poem by Tears In Rain

Wings

Rating: 5.0

I drew them back to the origins
of our love
I’d once known

To find a place that I had never been
since I was a child
with a heart my own

One soul can sell for a sad, small price
and those that remain
want to follow

With not the courage and the powers
of the child we began
to let them go

softly
we wander
forth from life
line to line

silence
not words
not in time

phantom
memories
of our pasts
whisper by

cradled
like tears
in our eyes

A deeper meaning for such moments as these
are needed none
that I know of

To alter destiny like this there must be
more than just one
person in love

touching
too little
far too much
much too late

promise
broken
like a plate

and now
you believe
blindly trust
have found faith

in no
such things
as angels

wings
