Will Never Be Poem by Cat Ducat

Will Never Be

Rating: 5.0

Despite nagging fears,
we still persist.
Among raging tears,
love still stands amidst.
What pulls us apart
does bind us so close,
but really what binds us in the end?

Like Romeo and Juliet,
together we never may be.
In modern or historic set,
some issue shan't let love free.
Judgement of the people
or doubts within our minds -
prevention by the government,
or trapped within religious confines.

But do you see what I see
in those cloudy, bejaded eyes?
From feelings of resent and glee,
is it love we recognize?
In every glance -
the longing's there
In every stare -
the passion flares
for a love that will never be.
