Why Did You Do It? Poem by Royston Allen

Why Did You Do It?

Why did You do it? I just cannot tell.
You took on Satan and You took on Hell.
There in the desert alone You would be
without provisions hungry and thirsty.

Satan came along tempting You to stray
seeking to get You to follow his way.
Tested to the limit but yet You prevailed
winning the victory where others failed.

Why You did it Lord? I just cannot tell.
You took on Satan and the forces of hell.
Alone of the cross You bore all my sin
giving Your life Lord, my lost soul to win
