Why? Poem by Kirsty Richards

Why?

Rating: 2.5

Why do you laugh
When you see the scars?
This isn't a game
It's the truth of my past

Why do you mock
When I try to explain?
Are you so naive
To the torment and pain

Why do you question
Whatever I say?
You weren't there to see
What happened that day

Why do you leave
Whenever you see
The tears in my eyes
And the blood on my sleeve?

Why don't you love me?
You're my mum, you're my home
Yet you brush me aside
To cope on my own

Why don't you listen?
Why weren't you there?
Why Mamma, why?
Why don't you care?
