Who's The Boss? Poem by John Zeller

Who's The Boss?

split personality
dragging me around
dragging me in circles
calling me a clown

I try to control him
tell him 'I'm the boss'
but he doesn't listen
a personal sort of loss

woke me up last night
drug me out of bed
threw me in the shower
then shaved my head

he interrupts my writing
by whispering her name
then I can’t think straight
its driving me insane

slap him on the left
he slaps me on the right
got him in a strangle hold
I try to hold on tight

he flips me to the floor
and kicks me while I'm down
getting out of hand now
spectators all around

pull ourselves together
say it’s just a show
he pulls me by the ear
says it's time to go
