Who Is Afraid Of The Coronavirus Poem by Terence George Craddock

Who Is Afraid Of The Coronavirus

I was going to write a poem
Who Is Afraid Of The Coronavirus?
but media tech giants governments

were pushing a coronavirus
fear agenda including playgrounds
not safe in sunlight fresh air

which was a healthy space place
all that open air where coronavirus
had minimal change to spread

to masked socially distanced people
healthy outside playing exercising enjoying
instead of locked up in stale air houses

with growing fear phobia
afraid to go out of houses
toxic phobia health issues

but media tech giants governments
political leaders were political spin
manipulating data creating fears

people died of killing cancer listed as covid deaths
people died of old age health issues listed as covid deaths
people shot dead with a bullet listed as covid deaths

if covid was detected in an autopsy
covid might be present but patient did not die of it
but media tech giants governments

using spun data for political gain
using spun data for political spin
using spun data to justify lockdown

I was going to write a poem
'Who Is Afraid Of The Coronavirus'
but media, tech giants, governments

and political leaders were political spin
manipulating data; using spun data
for political gain, profit news headlines,

while disinformation was spreading
like a plague public fear was sown
into society; so topic change instead

I decided to write about a forgotten
deadly ancient killer predator malaria
is malaria a forgotten dangerous disease?

let us examine key facts to determine diagnosis
let us consider only data from 2021 covid crisis
to act as a moderating comparison of priority?

nearly half of the world's population
was at risk of malaria a serious danger
in 2021 an estimated 247 million cases

malaria cases a few million increased worldwide
estimated malaria deaths 619,000 malaria dead
African is the undisputed malaria region king

African is home to 95% of malaria cases
African is home to 96% of malaria deaths
children under 5 accounted for about 80%

of all malaria deaths in an African Region
is this the reason malaria is not important?
the words 'they do not really care about us'

Michael Jackson sang in supporting sympathy
billions funded for Coronavirus research vaccines
urgent effects America Europe a developed world

not so much money available for malaria research?
so wrote a few malaria poems to promote response
Malaria Mosquito Thirst Blood Seekers

Malaria How Might I Kill You?
Stealth Killer Scream Fly Upon Tiny Time Beating Wings
Dawn Dusk Blood Drinker

Dawn Dusk Vampire Blood Drinker Sails
zero response because Michael Jackson was right
when singing words 'they do not really care about us'

seriously real medical reports research articles read
would have been labeled fact news when quoted
Africa again ignored during coronavirus fear agenda

no funding medical urgency relief for suffering Africa
Africa excluded from health need except for covid data
as Michael Jackson said 'they do not really care about us'
