White Devil Poem by steve zabaldo

White Devil

Gloating demon
I despise you
You abuse me, then
make me love you
Consume me as I consume you.
Rend flesh from my bones
slowly, willfully,
A maggot in a bloated corpse.
Devour my will
Ravenous, insatiable
Make me betray myself,
Rationalize,
disgorge denial.
Rejoice foul fiend
at my rabid paranoia.
I curse you as I push you
in my veins…
So warm.

A love hate relationship with dependance - powerfully written, the juxtaposition of thoughts and images resounds. (I have written a poem called Snow that you may like to read) .Kind regards, Justine.
