ESCAPES NOTICE:

Which part of love escapes
Notice? Is it beyond reach
Of my endeavor?
Which part of love escapes notice
Beyond reach? My ancestors here
By way of slave ships makes
Some of us eccentric lovers
Unless we by now
Grow into images of black
Males painted by tools of art

Controlled by pop culture loved
And noticed by white women
Mothers of all our gods -clandestine
Mistresses of ceremonies of peace
Then after we are made a cause of
White boys gone mad by rationing
Of conceptual reasoning which part
Of love loss drowns in evening

Violation of unnoticed annals
Experienced in
The roll upon thighs of mulatto girls
Left unnoticed
In past experiments
First day eclipses wink
To set within shadows over
The face of earth -skin and
Membrane covering wishful ideas


Inches and scales covering where
Love may reach beyond the Sphinx
And the core of it may rise from sleep
I dream awake my hand holds yours
Wrapping it in the glove of our love's
Engagement -by love I mean that I
Am able faced with supernatural
Belief that god like patience prevails.
