Where Did We Bury The Memories? Poem by RIC BASTASA

Where Did We Bury The Memories?

in that old town
in that old house
at the back thereof
there is a yard
a garden without
flowers

beside the fence
on the north side
where the pigs are
where the tradition of
town comfort rooms
were built
where water pumps
were maimed by rusts
where rats breed
and they were too many
where garbage, all sorts
of garbage were buried.

the old sycamore tree
stood as witness.
