Where Affection Is Weighed In Kilos And Grams Poem by Pranayee Rachamalla

Where Affection Is Weighed In Kilos And Grams

Rating: 5.0

where affection and care are weighed in kilos and grams,
problems are magnified by lens,
and faults are counted in numbers
where happiness is sold for compromises
and where feelings are understood only by expressions,
and faith is almost halfway in evaporation,
there where tears are measured in litres,
and smiles are your rarest visitors,
where gifts are measured in amounts,
and mistakes are being taken down by heart,
promises are broken into fragments
walls and buildings are built in between hearts,
and feel that silence has no meaning,
where attitude and behaviour is given a rating,
then where adjustment dominates sacrifices
and truth is replaced by lies.
there love cannot stay alive
and relationship cannot survive!

Non-attributes of love elegantly enumerated, in such an insightful fashion to capture the essence of love. Love is a spiritual experience, a voyage of pure bliss that affects one profoundly. A well articulated piece of poetry nicely penned in poetic diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Pranayee. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

tragic and yet beautifully expressed pranayee. your comparison of human emotions to materialist life is just amazing. its a hurtful fact that emotions are marketed today and its only deception. thank you for sharing your wonderful poem girl! ! be blessed! !

A new way of looking at the subjectivity of human emotions and adding objectivity to measure. Amazing commentary on the changing mores of our society.
