Whenever I Am In A Pensive Mood Poem by Bhaskaranand Jha Bhaskar

Whenever I Am In A Pensive Mood

I feel all lost in a ruthless world
Where none is there
By my side,
In my inexplicable thoughts.
In the constant company of loneliness
And its long shadow
I keep talking in dumb silence
Gagged with words
Lying unuttered in grief's gutter.

Sometimes someone knocks
At the door of my wrinkled skin.
Feeling of cold touches opens
The locked door
To the past in the present,
Treasured in heart;
Fresh meanings play in and dance
Over the bruised words
Grown on the wings of imagination.

New bride of thoughts blushes red
And escapes with herself
In deep gloom of aging memories
Beyond the dozing horizon
Of mind and heart,
Despair and dejection
While my battered self keeps
Beating and fretting at
Leftover words of languishing life.
Whenever I am in a pensive mood
I step out of my grief
In search of the beginning line
Of hope and happiness
For the poem of life, love and peace.
