When You Tell A Child The Dead Are Only Sleeping...It Turns Them Into Stephen King Poem by Ted Sheridan

When You Tell A Child The Dead Are Only Sleeping...It Turns Them Into Stephen King

Rating: 5.0

There is a coffin lying
in the center of our Living room
A body with eyes closed.....
It's an all too familiar stare it wears.......
Both cold hands folded across the girth of it's chest
Add the perfect eerie touch and make it appear
to be very peaceful at least.....
There is a body lying
in the center of our Living room
custom dictates it will be here till dawn
then being committed to the ground.....

Beware you children who gather round.....
for tonight when all the living have gone to sleep
Grandpa will wake to walk again_____

Ohhhh I can see how nightmares could easily follow...no wonder children are so naturally curious about what happens when someone dies... Hugs, Dee
